Charleston, WV – For the third-year young skiers and snowboarders will get a chance to participate in the West Virginia Passport Program. This program allows any child, in any state, in the 4th or 5th grades to ski or snowboard for FREE during the 2021 – 2022 season.
All of West Virginia’s alpine ski areas are participating in the West Virginia Ski Areas Association’s Ski Free 4th and 5th Grade Passport Program: Winterplace, Oglebay, Canaan Valley, Snowshoe Mountain and Timberline Mountain.
The West Virginia Passport Program is designed to introduce 4th and 5th grade students to the outdoor sport of skiing and snowboarding at West Virginia Ski Resorts.
For the 2021/2022 season Winterplace, Oglebay, Canaan Valley and Timberline Mountain is offering three lift ticket coupons and Snowshoe Mountain is offering one lift ticket.
There will be one free rental coupon in each booklet that can be used at either Winterplace, Oglebay, Canaan Valley, Snowshoe Mountain and Timberline Mountain. Resort benefits are determined by each ski resort.
All of the tickets come in a booklet, which is mailed out after acquiring and can be redeemed at the resort’s ticket windows or guest services.
Coupons are valid January 3, 2022 – March 31, 2022, Sunday – Friday. Other blackout days include MLK Weekend (January 15 & 16, 2022) or President’s Day Weekend (February 19 & 20, 2022).
The coupon recipient is responsible for calling any participating ski resort 24 to 48 hours in advance of your ski date to ensure redemption policies have not changed at the resort do to the pandemic or unforeseen resort limitations.
The passports can be acquired between November 1, 2021 and January 20, 2022. There is a non-refundable $35 administration cost of the program for each passport.
