The countdown to the season marches on.
It is just nine days until August 1 – I repeat nine days. You are probably thinking why is August 1 such a big deal?
For us at Ski Southeast, the first day of August always seems to be the start of our “unofficial” preseason as we kick things into gear. Gears are already started turning as we get amped up for another season of coverage.
August 1 also brings the Fogs of August – our yearly tradition of tracking weatherlore. Simply, one fog in August equals one snow in the winter.
As we have discussed, 2020 has been a really weird year. However, we hope it returns closer to normal – or even the new normal – as the year keeps marching on.
I mean we are only 125 days – give or take a few days depending on the mood Ma Nature is in – from the start of the 2020-21 season.
It will be here before we know it.
Keep checking back for the latest from the area resorts, new features, and of course the August fog count.
Until next time, #ThinkSnow!
