Sunny End To February

It is hard to believe that today is the last day of February.

Time has been flying when you are having fun – especially since the season took off like a rocket right after the New Year holiday.

February was a bit of a roller-coaster ride weather-wise as we saw a bit of everything, but cold weather always seemed to time out right as we had incredible conditions nearly the whole month.

Today is no exception as things are looking really nice with plenty of coverage – especially at the resorts that decided to crank up snowmaking operations over the weekend.

The Mountain Operation crews always hit it out of the park, and this year has been no different.

With the big bases and some perfectly timed snowmaking, we have had a great ride so far.

This week will see us transition to some spring skiing conditions as we will have some milder temperatures as the week goes on.

Brad Panovich will stop by with his latest skier’s forecast in the coming days, and give us a glimpse into what to look for over the next couple of weeks.

For the latest conditions, be sure to visit the Snow Reports page to get all the deets. Here are a couple of notable items as we kick start the week.

  • Tonight is the final Monday Night Madness at Massanutten. These popular events feature discounted lift tickets and rentals and have reached capacity throughout the season. Visit Massanutten’s website for more info.
  • Ski Sapphire Valley announced that they have closed for the season. They join Wolf Ridge in closing up for the season.
  • Omni Homestead has announced that Sunday, March 6, will be their last day of the 2021-22 season.

It is hard to believe we are already seeing closing announcements.

Today’s featured image is from our buddy Bill Nabers from Bryce on Friday. Bill said the photo was taken looking up from the bottom of Redeye with White Lightening, Hangover, Revenuer’s run, and Bootlegger visible from right to left.

That does it for today, but until tomorrow, #ThinkSnow!
