Mild Couple of Days – Then Maybe Some Snow

Weather

Stay up to date by getting notified of new posts!

Back to the mild side today and this little mild bit of air will not last like others have over the last several weeks.  We are now done with January and there is not much question that NATIONALLY January will go down as the warmest on record.

Tomorrow is Groundhog Day and I’m betting that the furry little creature will see his shadow, despite the fact that they are expecting rain tomorrow morning in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania.  We’ll see.

We’ll be about 5° warmer than normal for highs today and about 12° warmer than normal for overnight lows tonight.  Last year on this date we saw a high of 36° and a low of 27° which is much more like normal.  Yesterday as we all know, it was cold as heck…which will make today feel even warmer.

The records for this date in weather history are:

72° for a high set back in 1989
minus 4° for the low set in 1971
4” of snow fell back in 1979
