Alright, who ordered the deja vu?
As Snowshoe put it on their slope report, if you enjoyed the weather the last two days, you’re in luck because today is more of the same.
Another beautiful day is on tap for our Wednesday as we will have soft snow conditions across the region.
Today’s featured image is from Canaan Valley. Goodness – what a beautiful shot.
I love bluebird days, but I just wish it was a tad bit colder so our mountain op crews could work their magic.
However, the prevailing storyline for the last couple of weeks remains true – there is plenty of snow to play on despite the wacky weather that we have had the past few weeks.
That certainly warrants a huge #ThankASnowmaker to those mountain operation crews who have worked some true magic so far this season.
The snowmaking crews will get a bit of a rest over the next couple of days, but it looks like we could have snow snowmaking windows early next week to kick off the holiday week.
As Brad Panovich mentioned yesterday in his latest skiers forecast, the pattern is going to flip to cold, but we have to be patient just a little while longer.
All that said, coverage is still looking great at the open resorts and those that are getting ready to resume operations (or open their season in a few cases) this weekend.
Today will bring some softer snow conditions and milder temperatures which can be a lot of fun.
You can view the complete conditions list over on the Snow Reports page, but there were a few differences in the ski report this morning – including new terrain opening up.
Snowshoe will start spinning the Soaring Eagle lift and open Widowmaker and Lower Hootenanny this morning for the first time this season.
The crew at the ‘Shoe also teased they will be opening a Basin Blue in the coming days and have previously announced Silver Creek will be opening on Friday for the season.
Pretty sweet.
Bryce Resort announced that they will operate daily starting on Saturday, Dec. 18 from 9a-4:30p every day until Dec. 24. On Dec.24, Bryce will start the special holiday hours and are scheduled to hit regular season hours of operation after January 1st.
As we approach the busy holiday week, remember to check with your intended resort to see if advanced reservations or ticket sales are required. It is not too early to start final preps for your trips to the mountains.
As I wrap up this morning, I wanted to share a few social media posts.
That does it for today, but until next time, #ThinkSnow!
