Well played, Mother Nature.
It isn’t an April Fool’s joke when you look around our mountain communities as some light snow has fallen to kick off April.
After a March that had extremely limited natural snow, it is nice to see the ground covered with fresh flakes – even if the resorts are closed for the 2020-21 ski season.
I mean we all love snow.
Officially, David Lesher at the Canaan Weather Station (who does an incredible job year-round documenting the weather on Canaan Mountain in Davis, WV) is reporting 1.17″ inches of fresh snow overnight.
Snowshoe and Wisp are also reporting around an inch of snow.
While we aren’t able to ski, it sure is nice to look at. Take a look at some of the views this morning from Resort Cams.
Remember, you can check out these views and more 24/7 at Resortcams.com.
I caught this post over on Twitter and thought it was really awesome.
Thought I would be done with this, but they are still beautiful, even if they occur in April. #snowflakes #nature #weather @weatherchannel @wjhl @NWSMorristown pic.twitter.com/83jk5AEeRC

Tom is a retired winter weather expert for the Weather Channel and was also the National Weather Service Meteorologist-In-Charge for the Buffalo, NY office, and has found a home atop Roan Mountain – which is a short drive from Beech Mountain and Sugar Mountain.
He shares some incredible content 365 days a year, but his snow content is always interesting. Tom is definitely worth a follow on Twitter.
That does it for today, but until next time, #ThinkSnow!
