DAVIS, West Virginia – Officially billed as the Newschoolers Tell A Friend Tour Presented by Line Skis, Canaan Valley will host professional free style skier Andy Parry and others during a one-day free event on January 17th.
Now in its third season, the Tell A Friend Tour promises to bring a day of wacky adventures to the slopes of Canaan Valley Resort. “I’m doing the exact same thing as before,” Andy says, “Except I’m going to more resorts, more shops and covering more area. The concept of the tour is to actively engage skiers to go out and have fun. And to give away free stuff,” he adds.
Andy Parry and the Tell A Friend Tour visit large and small ski areas, shred hard with the locals, and dish out pizza and lots of free swag. Plan to meet Andy at the new terrain park located on Lower Prosperity starting at 10:00 am. Ski with the professionals and get freestyle pointers throughout the day. Finish strong in Bear Paw Lodge at 3:00 pm with free pizza and prizes.
“Events like the Tell A Friend Tour help Canaan Valley Resort spread the love of the sport”, explains Canaan Terrain Park Supervisor Brian Sarfino. “It’s really all about just getting out there and having fun. Hosting a group of professional skiers at Canaan Valley Resort to share their knowledge and energy is awesome. It really encapsulates the essence of freestyle skiing.”
Canaan Valley Resort features a new 160-room Main Lodge, 43 slopes and trails with a summit elevation of 4,280 feet and a vertical drop of 850 feet. There are five lifts, a free-style terrain park, 8-lane Tube Park, and a covered outdoor ice skating rink. The resort will feature new menus, new hours and après-ski opportunities, improvements to the shuttle service from Canaan Valley Lodge to the slopes and weekend events such as NASTAR and four scheduled Rail Jams add to the winter experience.
