Good morning folks! Hopefully the dreary weather isn’t bumming everyone out too bad this morning. There is underdeveloped snow at most of the regional ski areas and it’s going to continue to be that way for the rest of today and tonight. As I’m writing this, I can hear the underdeveloped stuff on the roof here at work. It’s coming down pretty hard right now. While it’s kind of disappointing, it is also a good thing. We haven’t had a lot of precipitation lately and are already in a deficit for the year. So we definitely needed a good soaking like this.
<<<App this morning. They definitely have enough snow to last another month.
With the recent mild temperatures and lack of wintry weather, I’m sure some people are beginning to wonder how much longer the resorts can hold on. The topic has even been discussed on the messageboard. To that I say QUIT WORRYING AND GO RIDE! Conditions are still really good at all the areas and we have probably four more weeks of skiing and riding here in the Southeast. While some of the resorts will most definitely close up shop before then, there will be the usual few who make it to late March. So quit thinking too much into it and get out on the slopes and enjoy it while you can! It’s always a long summer.
Here’s the Snowshoe Summit portion of the morning! Like I said yesterday, I’m probably going to remind you guys about it every morning until it gets here next weekend. Conditions will be great up at the Shoe and it’s an opportunity for everyone who is on the messageboard or frequents the site to meet and greet with one another. We’re going to be having a get together on Saturday night at Moonshine so make sure to be there for that! The Cuervo Games of Winter will be taking place all weekend so there will be plenty of festivities going on with that both during the day and at night. If you haven’t booked yet, you still can do so and take advantage of the discount lodging and free Sunday lift passes that Snowshoe is offering. Just make sure to use the code SkiSoutheast when you call them. Also, if you have already booked and made your reservation, email me at [email protected] with your address and confirmation code please. You can also PM adm1n on the messageboard. We are trying to get everything in place and confirm all of our attendees with Snowshoe.
So that’s it for today. Here are the resorts…
