Good morning fellow skiers and snowboarders!

We’ve been updating the fogs in August and to be honest, those posts become redundant. Either it’s foggy or not. Probably will just post ONCE next season. Haha.

That said, this morning was a beautiful and clear morning across the High Country. As the photo of the day up top shows, not only were the skies gorgeous, the deer were grazing atop Beech Mountain.

I looked around at all of the ResortCams and there were some clouds hanging around early down in the lowest valleys at Canaan Valley, and particularly over around Waynesville, Hendersonville and Asheville, North Carolina. However, for our reporting accuracy as it applies to tallying August fogs…today was a clear day.

So, we are holding at 17 of 24 with fogs.

Here’s another capture from the LIVE RESORT WEBCAM STREAMS

Speaking of ResortCams, we continue to add new cameras and partners. We’ll have new cams atop Beech Mountain’s sledding hill, thanks to the Town of Beech AND the new management at Winterplace has added cameras. We’ve also heard from Wisp Resort and we will be hosting LIVE STREAMS from there this season.

In closing, we are still close to three months away from any significant start to the 2022-2023 Ski & Snowboarding season, so I’ll be showing what I HOPE will be some interesting captures and videos from around the region…in the interim.

Today and this week I am working remotely from my little piece of heaven on Watauga Lake because my home is being completely re-piped. Ugggg.

As I was taking a break a bit ago, I saw that my boat-neighbor was ALSO working remotely. Great minds think alike. Millions of Americans are working remotely these days, but you can see what that looks like for us.

I’ll have more to share shortly! Email me if you like at [email protected]
