Tuesday is shaping up to be another beautiful day.
We are getting a bit of a spring preview over the next couple of days with some mildish temperatures and sunshine, but winter will return just in time for Saturday.
Monday was a fantastic day to be out on the slopes as the weather conditions were nearly perfect and the snow conditions were pretty great as well.
Today will be more of the same with the exception that it might be just a tad warmer.
For the full conditions report, be sure to visit the Snow Reports page. Here are a few notes from around the area.
- As Snowshoe put it, there will be some excellent corduroy out there at rope drop this morning, so get after it early and often. The conditions on the slopes look pretty incredible.
- I was surprised to see a couple of resorts sneak in a couple of hours of snowmaking overnight.
- For the most part, everything is status quo from the past couple of days on the Snow Report with some minor adjustments to temperatures and bases.
- As scheduled, Massanutten will be open for day sessions only through Thursday.
- Cupp Run at Snowshoe is back open after being closed for the Cupp Run Challenge on Monday. Some of the videos showed they have some incredible conditions for the annual event.
- For those who may have missed it over the weekend, West Bowl, the artist formerly known as Oz Run, is now open at Beech Mountain from 9a-4:30.
Tuesday is shaping up to be another fantastic day.
After a couple of more spring-like days that will include some mildish temperatures and potentially some underdeveloped snow, winter will return on Saturday as we could see some natural snow.
It is still a couple of days away from talking totals, but it is looking like the West Virginia resorts could be the big winner with several inches of fresh snow.
Trust me, we will be keeping our eye on the forecast and bringing updates throughout the week.
Today’s featured image of the day is from our buddy Bill Nabers who took a “mental health” morning to play around at Bryce Resort instead of patrolling. As he put it, it is very nice skiing.
As always, a huge thanks to Bill for sending us some great shots and updates from the slopes.
That does it for today, but until tomorrow, #ThinkSnow!
