A Little Taste Of Winter In October

We are getting a small taste of winter in October today.

Snowshoe, Canaan Valley, Beech Mountain, and Sugar Mountain have been seeing the first flakes of the season. While the totals will be on the low side, it is awesome to look over on Resortcams.com and see some light snow falling.

Most locations have only seen flurries to a light dusting, but Snowshoe looks to be approaching around an inch late this evening.

Our own Brad Panovich posted a forecast and an inch or two could be in play for the elevations over 5,000 feet.

Here are a couple social posts highlighting the snow so far.

The cold and snow does bring a heavy heart for the regions affected by Hurricane Helene, and our thoughts and prayers continue to be with those still reeling from the aftereffects.

That does it for today, but until next time, #ThinkSnow!
