After plentiful sunshine this week, Ma Nature decided to mix it up a little bit since it is Friday. However, it won’t be a complete washout.
Rain will move through the area this morning, but we should see some breaks this afternoon for those able to get out and make some spring turns.
There may be a few raindrops this weekend, but the forecast certainly isn’t looking all that bad.
For the full rundown, be sure to visit the Snow Reports page.
The biggest takeaway is that it is another mild morning so we should have soft and playful snow conditions as we move throughout the day.
As we move into the weekend, here are a few notes from around the area.
- Bryce Resort is set to resume operations this morning after suspending operations for Wednesday and Thursday.
- Timberline is suspending operations due to the rainy forecast today (March 15), but they are going to crank things back up on Saturday. Timberline is going to host the annual Pool Party tomorrow.
- Lower Ballhooter is closed for today at Snowshoe as the crew at 4848′ gets ready for Saturday’s Pond Skim event. Registration will take place beside the base of the Ballhooter lift tomorrow morning from 10:30-12:30.
- Massanutten Resort has announced that Saturday will be their last day of the 2023-24 winter season. In addition to the ‘Nutt, App Ski Mountain and Beech Mountain are set to close their 2023-24 seasons on Sunday afternoon.
- Hatley Pointe released a limited-edition collection inspired by the mountain’s rich history in celebration of Hatley Pointe’s first anniversary. You can check it out at hatley-made.com.
Pretty cool stuff.
If you didn’t see it over on Facebook, be sure to check out this conversation with Mike and Captain America – aka Jeffry Jackson – from the Ski Southeast Summit at the ‘Nutt. It is pretty incredible to see Captain America still making turns despite all that life has thrown at him.
That does it for today, but until next time, #ThinkSnow!
