2020 has certainly been a roller coaster ride.
Even if you take out Covid-19, Mother Nature has given us a fair share of ups and downs since January 1 and May has been no different as we head into Mother’s Day weekend. (Happy Mother’s Day to all our moms out there!)
In the first full week of May, we have seen light snow, some beautiful 70-degree weather, and then some more light snow.
Welcome to mountain weather.
It was quite the sight Wednesday and Thursday to see the reports of snow falling come in, and even better to see some of the social media posts.
It is always great to see some freshly fallen snow – no matter the time of the year.
For those keeping score, that is two dustings of snow in May.
Craziness.
Over on Instagram, Visit Deep Creek also shared a cool video Wednesday night of some visitors that visited an area homeowner.
Very cool.
Even though it hasn’t felt exactly like summer, resorts are starting to prep in anticipation of opening for summer activities while we continue to deal with Covid-19.
While we don’t have definite open dates just yet, we will be sure to share those as we get them. As we move deeper into May, I expect we will have a better idea of what the summer schedule will look like.
Things are certainly going to look different this summer as we adjust to the new normal.
That will do it for now, but until next time, #ThinkSnow!
