Wisp Resort for 2007-2008!
The most exciting new addition to the resort since the North
Camp 10 trail, 2 quad lift expansion 2 years ago is the Mountain
Coaster.
This German engineered hybrid of an alpine slide and a roller
coaster is only the 2nd of it's kind on the East Coast and only
the 4th in the country.
 Opened on August 30,
2007, Wisp's Mountain Coaster was installed in less than 4
months and boasts to be one of the steepest Mountain Coasters in
the United States.
For more thrills, the track is lit for night-time
operation - winter, spring, summer and fall!
Wisp Resort introduces Burton's Learn To Ride Freestyle
Center that specialize in instructing beginner and
intermediate snowboarders in Terrain Park and Super Pipe
techniques.
In addition to offering this Freestyle Program, Wisp Resort is
designating a Terrain Park and Rail Park to beginner and
intermediate skiers and boarders. Wisp Resort is also a Learn
To Ride Center for Kids and Adults and has invested in a High
Performance Burton Snowboard Rental fleet.
Snow Tubing - PLUS!
Opened in Winter 2000, the Bear Claw Snow Tubing Park has grown
immensely in popularity and out-grown the facilities. A new
5,000 square foot Sprung Structure will add space and
convenience for Tuber Services such as Snow Tubing and Mountain
Coaster ticket sales, food and beverage service and day lodge
area. The new structure features 26 ft. tall cathedral ceilings
with various ski lights and Suntop glass windows overlooking the
10 tubing lanes. Three oversized double-glass doors allow for
handicap accessible entrance to the facility. Bear Claw Snow
Tubing Park will also offer a Mini-Sledding Area for children
under 42 inches tall which is the minimum height for Snow
Tubing.
The Best Gets Better...at Snowmaking!
Snowmaking equipment is always a welcomed addition to any ski
resort and this winter season Wisp Resort has added snowmaking
on 2 of the 32 most popular trails: Squirrel Cage (1 of 2
side-by-side black diamonds on the front side) receives 6 new
Super Pole Cats and Down Under (the intermediate trail
connecting to the East Ridge that features the infamous Tunnel)
receives 8 SMI 320s.
Combine the added equipment with one of the
most powerful and high-tech Snowmaking Facilities in the world
and you get some of the highest quality snow conditions in the
Mid-Atlantic!
Lodging Upgrades...
Wisp Resort Hotel & Conference
Center has upgraded 6 of the 168 suites to King Luxury status.
These richly appointed renovated 3rd floor tower rooms feature
HD Plasma TVs, views of the ski slopes, custom cabinets and tile
in the lavatory, plush new bath and bedroom linens, new fixtures
throughout, wall hangings from a local Western Maryland artist,
king pillow-top mattresses and even an IPOD dock-able alarm
clock. Combine these suites with an indoor heated pool and hot
tub, fitness center, e-center and WIFI, numerous food and bar

Snowboarders rate WISP as one of the best terrain parks
anywhere. They actually offer TWO terrain parks and a
halfpipe that is 400 feet long. Tubing is also great fun
at Wisp with tubing lanes measuring a whopping 750 feet! (This
is unquestionably the best tubing park in the region!)
