 This weekend is also
Snowshoe’s third annual
Homegrown Music
Festival. Snowshoe
Mountain's management
has purposely planned
this year's summit to
coincide with their
Homegrown Music
Festival and
that simply means that
there will be even more
on-slope parties,
resort-wide specials and
some of the best music
talent from around the
region!
Snowshoe's events will
include all sorts of
entertainment!
Throughout the weekend
you’ll be treated to
live music in a variety
of locations across the
mountain. Take in the
homegrown sounds of
country, southern rock
and bluegrass favorites
from around the area,
and participate in The
Homegrown Games. This
event is so much fun,
we’ve moved the
SkiSoutheast après party
to Saturday night to
ensure you won’t miss a
minute of the Homegrown
entertainment. |

We will be doing some
First Tracks on Sunday
morning with Snowshoe's
Bill Rock and crew, but
due to other conflicts,
etc, we will need to
limit First tracks to 30
skiers/snowboarders.
We are currently
deciding on how we will
pick the 30 First
Trackers. Last season we
had several people who
asked to be provided
that honor - not show
up. It is very special
to be able to make
several turns before
anyone else on the
mountain. We will be
doing that again this
season. If you have
interest in being among
the 30 to do that
email me
and depending on how
many wish to do that we
may draw names, etc.
First tracks are at
8:30am SHARP and we'll
probably do it Sunday
morning.
Last season due to heavy
snow and the fact the
some people forgot that
daylight savings time
kicked in we only had
perhaps a dozen or so
diehards make the first
tracks. It was KILLER
with nearly a foot of
fresh powder! Depending
on the numbers
attending, we may do
something at the Friday
Night Après Ski Party to
qualify those 30 slots. |

Snowshoe has been
accommodating as heck
over the years and
they've given away a ton
of lift passes for
attendees - no questions
asked - however we are
asking that those of you
with children simply
print out ONE LIFT PASS
COUPON for each adult
and print YOUR
messageboard name on the
coupon. Then for those
with children we are
asking that you print
the names of YOUR
children that you wish
to receive a free lift
pass for in the second
blank on the coupon.
Then have your children
WITH YOU when you
present the coupon for
free lift passes. We are
not requiring or asking
for IDs or anything, but
we are trying to prevent
the abuse of Snowshoe's
hospitality.
Unfortunately we are
aware of a few cases
where people came and
simply asked for
multiple tickets when
they didn't need them -
and subsequently sold
them on the mountain.
Note: We are not
requiring that your
minor children join the
messageboard simply to
get a lift pass. We are
only asking that you
print your child's first
name on the coupon and
have them with you to
receive the freebies. We
only want to prevent the
chaos that tends to
happen and scenarios
where perhaps some of
the people who just
happened to be in Hoots
got free lift tickets.
We'd also like to get an
accurate count of how
many people are
SkiSoutheast
Messageboard members in
attendance. |
